This time last year Ferrari had won two out of three races, leading the championship and could have won all three. The big question then was; can Mercedes finally win a race? Funny how things go as Mercedes was favourite at the start of the season. This year the roles seem reversed. Ferrari favourite at the start but hasn't won a race yet.
The Baku race is always like a roulette so very hard to predict. Leclerc made a strong impression here last year, can he convert that into a win this year? What can Max do? Is the Bull fast enough to challenge for the win? Or will we see another Merc walkover?

Hoping Ferrari can reverse things. I am going for Seb as he is too good to remain without a win in about 8 races. I don't see Gasly being close enough to Max to cause a crash and the pink cars should also have a gap to each other.
I like Baku so looking forward to this one.

Well, if Ferrari sprays its car in a matt finish just to save weight (Binotto's words), then shaving Seb's moustache makes sense. Another 10 grams could be just enough to beat the Mercs!

although I am not a great fan of Max I have a sneaky feeling he will be victorious this weekend, not sure why, failing that the top 6 to fall out over the 1st corner and the Hulk to win his first of many victories, oh well, maybe not

I see the spectre of drain covers not being securely bolted down has reared its head once more on a street circuit. I wonder if Napoleon will now insist on the cars having armour plated undersides for next year as a result!

Looking good for Ferrari so far. I have the feeling we will see Charles's first F1 win this weekend. Russell was lucky, that could have ended much worse. Kimi was right to critisize the FIA, they looked like amateurs. Silly mistake also by Red Bull/Gasly, now Pierre has to start from the pitlane for the race! I am really looking forward to qualy and the race! Forza!

And - I agree that it is lucky that Russell wasn't seriously hurt in hitting the manhole cover. Very unfortunate that it is more damage to a Williams, and the floor too - this will set them even further back in understanding / improving their car.

Comparing "before and after" photos, it still amazes me that it was accepted to send a field of F1 cars through these narrow street sections. But good that it was (accepted). I wonder if the citizens of Baku now try to drive through there at F1 speeds. Tricky on wet cobbles, but you'd have to wouldn't you?

Just when it was starting to fill out. Still, if Vettel is no longer channeling Mansell, I'm expecting his performances and particularly interviews will improve markedly

The battle between the Red Bulls last year was so compelling. Ricciardo certainly had pace over Verstappen, to be able to put him under so much pressure for so long. I remember shouting out loud, firstly when Ricciardo finally got past, then after losing the place in a pitstop, shouting even louder when Verstappen swerved in front of Ricciardo to cause the collision pictured. Verstappen was trying so hard to be the dominant Red Bull driver at that stage, and just kept messing up due to over aggression. He eventually got there, but only after he calmed down a bit. If he has a chance of a podium or a win this season, which Verstappen will we see?

It's not just manhole covers, do you remember the drain cover that ripped the wheel off Grosjeans Haas at the Malaysian GP in 2017? In an incident like that, does the Team have a claim on the organisers or FIA for the cost of damage, or is it all self insured?
