That is very sad news. Charlie has been a part of Formula One for as long as I can remember and he was an iconic figure of the sport. A very likeable man who will be deeply missed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP Charlie Whiting.

Always terribly sad when one hears of someones passing, even more so when it so sudden and unexpected in poor Charlie's case. I was surprised to read that he was only 66 years old, as I had put him down to be much older for some reason.
Held in huge respect by all in the paddock apparently, and justifiably so.
God speed Charlie.

Charlie Whiting was the calm in the center of chaos, the benevolent and resourceful adult in the room, and another with these qualities won't be easy to find.
Some people thrive on stressful environments, and he was masterful, but often our physical body doesn't stand up over time to what our mental ability can handle. Charlie Whiting gave to the sport everything he had. May he rest in peace.

Charlie's passing really is very sad, taken too young by far and I hope the family are ok. One of the good guys for sure.
Sky F1 did a lovely little tribute to Charlie in the pre-race programming today....really rather good indeed and beautifully done. Herbie Blash and Bernie both gave very touching tributes to their friend and were obviously both deeply affected by his death and highly emotional. It was lovely to see Bernie still has a softer side......maybe his heart hasn't hardened all the way after alll...
RIP Charlie.
