A relative has just sent this to me, and I have to say it raised some laughter.

A relative has just sent this to me, and I have to say it raised some laughter. Hilarious!!! The NBC peacock symbol and actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus led to Saturday Night Live, a program of satire now approaching a half-century. A brilliant satire! I love the "ribbon release auto dump feature" discharge of all batteries, spilling out like shell casings from a pom-pom gun.

brilliant
Carl, I did like Saturday Night Live, unfortunately I only access it via u-tub occasionally, but the likes of the Blues Bros et al will forever remain in my memory
but the satire sums it up really, doesn't it?

I have heard about "Saturday Night Live" but never seen it. Without wishing to be un-PC Julia Louis-Dreyfus looks pretty good for a lady of 58 years, in fact I will amend that comment, she looks amazing!

Nothing to do with electric cars - but still something for a laugh. I found this brilliant - made, apparently, by the best efforts, by a very young racing fan.

Two brilliant pieces of humour. Loved the Merc one and agree the kid should get an A+.

Regarding the article in MSM on that "Volkswagen ends all non-electric motor sport activity": I find it sad and 'worrying', the latter word in the sense that it could perhaps be the start signal to the decline (a general, global decline) of 'real' motor sport - where 'motor' refers to a high-performance combustion engine.

me too Mikael, I am guessing that is why the generations that grew up listening to 'real' engines V12's, V8 etc will always lament their passing but younger generations will probably embrace these whining beasts, mind you some of the power bands these electric vehicles grind out does make for exciting acceleration, but again it does explain why historic meetings are so popular

Motorsport that we grew up with will no longer exist in 10, 20 years time and probably even sooner. Like it or not, it's a fact. That doesn't mean that racing will disappear, racing games are amongst the most popular games with young people. But in real racing the combustion engine will eventually be replaced by electrical or hydrogen power units.
I can live with that to be honest, it's just a fact of life that things change. Oh yes I miss the V12 or V8's very much and certainly F1 will never sound as frightening again as it used to do but younger race fans already look back to the gas guzzling race cars of the past with a completely different perspective.
I guess we may find ourselves lucky that we witnessed that era and cherish the memories.

Rene I think that perfectly sums it up, should I need reminding I have on my phone the sound of an H16 warming up, which leads me to a point, are there any BRM H16's around? I don't recollect ever seeing any,
the issue I find perplexing is that whilst I do feel it is great that F1 et al are becoming much more environmentally aware and it really is a fantastic and positive thing to do but then I read that 75% of its carbon footprint is down to air travel, I don't know if this is true or not but if it is that is that not contradictory to the cause
