Another fifth world title can be secured this weekend. Marc Márquez is a phenomenon and on his way to break all the records. Still, Ducati is very strong and will Yamaha's performance in Thailand turn out to be a one-off or have they turned the table? Enough ingrediants for another classic!

Every top-level race in Japan should be held at Suzuka, which has fewer rings but more brilliance and style.

really looking forward to this race, Motegi is a good circuit and I for one would like to know why we have 3 or is it 4 Spanish races and the Japanese only have 1, methinks a protest is needed here, I really do think a race at Suzuka would be brilliant as well as Motegi
I have gone for the Maverick, on a silly note because James Garner was on TV earlier, on a serious note because the tyres will now suit the Yamaha's more than previously, there is an excellent article on MS by Mat, spoiled by some prejudicial comments from some contributors, and there is a question has Rossi lost it? I think not, I think Dovi has definitely upped his game, Marquez is extremely quick but I still think he has that Senna type fragility- but gosh he is rapid and adding brains to his speed, I do think he will be very difficult to beat this year, but next year with Lorenzo? that will be interesting and Lorenzo I do wonder how he will be

I have gone for 'Dovi", as I think Jorge will still be too bashed about, even though he is a tough cookie. "Dovi" is riding very well right now but I still feel that he lacks the last bit to be a World Champion, and Ducati will miss Lorenzo a huge amount next season.
Personally I cannot wait to see how Jorge goes on the Honda, once he has it working to his needs. Doubt Marquez has had a team mate like him, and it will be the ultimate test. An interesting thought is the fact that Jorge has handled every team mate he has ever had, including Rossi.
I like Lorenzo and could watch him ride for days on end as he has a sublime riding style, a truly classic way of riding a race bike, unlike the rodeo cowboys. I know many do not like him as he has his eccentricities, but he is far deeper than most understand and makes for some really compelling interviews. A very bright lad with some clearly explained thoughts about many different aspects of racing and life.
As wonderful a circuit that is Suzuka, it will never get a MotoGP return as it is far too dangerous for bikes, and the rawness that followed Kato's tragic accident, Japan's one big MotoGP hope.

with regards to Jorge, it looks like your words were prophetic John,
Jorge is an interesting and complex soul, but as Mat Oxley says, tough, very tough, one of the three toughest on the grid, I love that smooth style, which is my preferred way of riding/ driving. remembering the oldest adage, you want to be quick? ride smoothly first - however, his desire to win is - or rather his desire not to be beaten I am at odds with, last year with Dovi was disgraceful, but as you say his intelligence and bravery are without question.
I too dislike the 'ride them like they've been stolen' style, it is however what the commentators like as we hear constantly,
have watched the first practice and it is looking good for my boy, and Dovi is seriously impressive, will be watching the 2nd practice later. just hope in Moto2 Alex Marquez is ok, that was a very nasty looking spill,
