On the subject of modelling gents.....
Do the Hiro Models come painted or do you paint them yourselves? If so, do you hand paint them or airbrush etc??

On the subject of modelling gents..... Do the Hiro Models come painted or do you paint them yourselves? If so, do you hand paint them or airbrush etc?? Like most specialist kits they are unpainted Jamie. You could airbrush them; however these days there are some superb aerosol spray cans with paint made up to match the original car. The same company that markets the Model Hiro kits in the Uk also supply these paints in both formats. Also the long standing and highly respected model company Tamiya make some excellent spray cans. Back in the day when I built mostly 1/43rd scale kits I used cellulose paint that was sourced from a place in Gloucester that supplied the motor trade. I could go into the shop with a colour chip from the real car and they would even mix it up, or I would patrol the paddock with my RAL paint chip book matching that to the real car. For instance I had a chip from a Can Am McLaren which was off course Papaya Orange, however the RAL match was called Volic Mandalin. I often used a full sized Binks Billows Spray gun to paint my models and this would give a superb finish, especially when cut back with a cutting compound like good old Brasso.

Thanks John. I expect the masking can get quite intricate if using spray cans 😁
