oh Jamie that is sad, I was a Mo fan and loved the Ensign that Chris Amon raced and if there was ever two guys made for each other it was they , he always came across as a dedicated and quiet guy, who was the real underdog and took it to them, and then when he went to the States he proved himself yet again and wonderful but now saddned memories, rest in peace Mo and thank you

Mo Nunn was one of the many fine drivers snubbed by fate and luck. He went on to be a talented constructor, seldom with adequate finances. He crossed the Atlantic and found his talents as an engineer rewarded. His reputation in America was of someone with immense overall knowledge honed by many years of great effort and we knew how lucky we were to have him here.
Few in motor racing have had more comprehensive knowledge than Nunn or been missed as much in retirement. May he have peace and perfect chassis balance.

Indeed very sad news on hearing of Morris' passing, he was a really good guy, and an absolute racer. A very good tribute to him in "Racer" which was well written and very respectful.
I had the great privilege of meeting Mo in the late '70's at his little workshop during the time he was running "Regga" in the dark blue Tissot sponsored MN177. He did an awful lot on very little, if any money, and the cars were superb looking. In all probability if he had stayed with producing F3 cars then he may well have had more financial security in the early mid 1970's as they were excellent cars.
It was good that he then moved across the North America and made a big name for himself engineering Indy/CART cars. Completely self taught and intuitive, won't find anyone like that now.
Thank you Mo you graced the sport, and we are all the richer for that.

Some lovely tributes. Charles, if memory serves Mo Nunn ran and raced his Ensign in F3 against Bev Bond and Dave Walker amongst others in 1970/71. It was dark green and was very competitive from the get go.

He raced a red Lotus 41 followed by the works GLTL Lotus 59 in 1969. Having failed to get the Lotus F1 drive in 1970, and then a possible F5000 drive fell through he drove no more and became a constructor. Bev Bond actually raced the "works" F3 Ensign in 1971; the first year the car raced, Bev's car was the green coloured car, and one of their wins in that season was the big support race to the F1 International Trophy meeting at Silverstone. JC Thanks Charles I wasn't sure. I just remember a pic from motorsport in the centre spread showing the grid of the F3 race and there was a report about it which was unusual for MotorSport. Anyway I followed F3 from then on until about 1990.

Very sad. The expression ‘Racing is life’ certainly applied to Mo. May he rest in peace.
