Alex Albon is on pole for the feature race again after a pole / win combo at the last race, I’ll be rooting for him to win again, he’s driving very well this season so far.
Norris is only eighth here and looking a little muted....could be a good race.

Hi Jamie, hope you are well, you know one of the problems with modern F2 is that I have no idea who is what and who is good or not, and that is a real shame, so hopefully you can keep us up to date, but wouldn't it be great to be a separate series again

All good here Chris, mad busy at work but rather that than the other way round, how are things with you?
The modern F2 isn’t a patch on the F2 we all love from the late 60’s / 70’s but I enjoy it nethertheless. The racing has been great this year so far, long may it continue. There are some really good drivers coming through at the moment (many of them Brits) so the future looks bright. I root for Alexander Albon because of the link with his father but I also enjoy watching Artem Markalov as he’s a fantastic racer.....there are many more great drivers to enjoy - Norris, Russell, Aitkin, Sette Camera etc etc...

You forgot Nyck DeVries there Jamie!  It was an exciting race and I thought Nyck was gonna do it. He briefly did but Russell kept his cool. The racing in GP2 is quite good I must say and some promising talent there. |

good to hear Jamie, bit like you in truth I've been basically doing two full-time jobs since Jan, but this week one of the jobs finishes so life will return to some sense of normality and I'll keep an eye out for Alexander, but the series sounds interesting,
but your comment has made me ask myself what was my actual favourite time in F2? I loved it in the 60's and the 80's and was ok with F3000 but it was always a stand-alone series and i recollect watching GP2 + 3 at SIlverstone one year and thinking , yea this is good, but then hidden my Murdoch's minions again, ah well - i will try and see if i can find somewhere to watch it, sounds good

well, have just watched the highlights on ooh-tube - interesting, pity about the artificial stuff as i reckon it doesn't need it as it looks a great series, Jamie, please forgive my ignorance but what engines are they using? but thanks for the tip, i will be following the highlights in future

well, have just watched the highlights on ooh-tube - interesting, pity about the artificial stuff as i reckon it doesn't need it as it looks a great series, Jamie, please forgive my ignorance but what engines are they using? but thanks for the tip, i will be following the highlights in future They use Meccachrome built v6 turbos 👍 It’s a completely new car this year and, so far, it’s allowed for some excellent racing. You’re quite right about the artificial bits and bobs of course but such is modern single- seater racing......I’d much rather it was a open chassis formula but that seems to have been eradicated from our sport now. In fact, other than formulas Vee and Ford, I can’t think of a junior formula that isn’t spec chassis these days.......there must be one but I can’t think of it off the top of my head 🤔 |

A momentary lapse 😁 Nick is excellent and I’d like him to win a few this year, he was quite disappointed after the race yesterday....this guy has an iron will under the surface. I like to see Dutch drivers coming through with my family ties to your wonderful country 😁 |
