What will the first European Grand Prix of the season bring? Will we see a fourth different winner? The Spanish riders will have the most support but it's Rossi who has the most wins in Jerez. Or will Márquez dominate as he did in the US?

I was there in 2014, it was brilliant, scorching weather and the sights, sounds and surroundings of wonder, mind you the 700 mile ride the next day was a bit of a dampener - but
I've gone for the Mav, as it is unexpected and i like him!

I have gone for M. Zarco again. It would be wonderful if he could win for Hervé's team, and himself of course, however it is a difficult one to call this weekend.
A repeat of the excitement from Argentina would be ideal, I do not want to see Marquez waltz away as in Austin.

it would be nice to see Dani do it, but it really is such a close call, i do think it will take a mistake from someone to resolve it, but nice to see Scott being quicker that his team mate in one session -

Another fantastic qualifying session with so much going on. Crutchlow on pole and with time to spare, a great effort; as was Dani in 2nd, and Johann Zarco getting third with a Yamaha was outstanding when you see where the official factory boys were. Marquez looked decidedly rattled after two falls in practice and qualifying, I just hope he keeps his head in the race and doesn't resort to MotoGP Skittles.
What can I say about Scott; all at sea by the look of it, goodness knows what is going on there.

Ouch what a crash! It was a shame as Dovi seemed to have the pace to (maybe) threaten Márquez. Bad bad day for the Ducati boys.

The race at Jerez today summed up exactly what Rob was talking about with reference to F1 in current times; the unpredictable and sense of the unexpected, or uncertainty. Not massively exciting with regard to back & forth racing, but that three rider crash changed everything. It was a pretty nasty looking coming together and one hopes that the high side little Dani experienced hasn't damaged him. No rider was to blame, it was all a matter of circumstance.
Jerez is notorious for being difficult to overtake, even for bikes and Dovi could not pass the well ridden Ducati of his team mate Lorenzo. If he had been able to do it cleanly earlier he may well have troubled Marquez.
Another great result for Zarco and Ianonni, the latter really beginning to ride as his talent would indicate.
Interestingly the BT Sport team were talking about a press release made by Johann Zarco's manager which was hyper critical of Yamaha and Rossi. He went as far as to state categorically that Rossi had prevented Yamaha from signing Johann. Well let us be quite clear here Yamaha have made some very poor decisions in recent times, and not getting Zarco on board is the worst. He blitz' both Rossi & Maverick most weekends on an old customer bike and still they don't sign the guy; idiots!!

that is news to me John, surely Rossi can't have that much sway? if he did would he have accepted Maverick? but,, stranger things have happened, so if this was the case would that have meant Mav was out of a ride for Zarco?
I thought Marquez rode a great race with good overtaking and just cleared off, although i did think Lorenzo's defence again Dovi was more robust than against Marquez, shall we say? or rather a bit like Max and Daniel, petulant, but in all fairness it was up to Dovi to get past him, and i did get the feeling Dovi got a bit frustrated by Lorenzo and made another attempt that just didn't work, and i understand Dovi was also blaming Dani for not looking, that one was a bit lost on me that one,
if it was just the bike why don't Yam go backwards in order to move forward, Rossi thinks it is all about the electronics but then why does the Tech3 bike look so much better?

Chris,
i was only relaying the information talked about by the BT Sport team, they were saying it was all around the paddock in Jerez. The words were that Rossi had blocked Zarco going to Yamaha, so one can only surmise to what extent his powers of veto are.
Also according to the BT team the works Yamaha team have full access to the Tech 3 data, so therefore it would appear that the works effort are making a right pigs ear of things. Or could it be that Johann Zarco is just plain fast, and doing more with a bike that isn't the best, he even has an engine that is 500rpm down on the factory engines. All this was another point of criticism from Zarco's manager.
Personally Yamaha let the wrong guy leave in Lorenzo, it has been downhill since he left. What a team Lorenzo and Zarco would be.

Not sure about Lorenzo v Rossi though JC. Lorenzo hasn't achieved much since he went to Ducati, especially in comparison to Dovi. I will only watch the race today as my TV played up on Sunday. A question: Is Yamaha's keeping of Rossi the equivalent to Ferrari sticking with Raikonnen?
