At the 2016 Czech Republic MotoGP, Marc Marquez astonished everyone by declining to allow a crash. He's accomplished the same amazing recovery several times, including last November in Valencia at 100 mph, but this Brno clip has better details and analysis.

thanks Carl, it really is astonishing and I cannot think of anyone at any time who could have saved that, it's the thought process of how to save it that gets me more than anything else, it really is astonishing, and I really don't know how he does it, which I am guessing neither do half the paddock,
incidentally I have been following the testing in Malaysia and Thailand and the bikes are looking awesome

incidentally I have been following the testing in Malaysia and Thailand and the bikes are looking awesome They do indeed and Honda look strong straight away which hasn't been the case for the last few years.....ominous for the rest of the pack. The Yamaha's look all at sea.....I see that Rossi and Maverick have started to snipe at / blame each other (mainly Mav to be fair), this could get nasty. Can't wait for this season.

Jamie I have a lot of time and sympathy for Mav, I do think he is fast becoming my favourite rider [along with Zarco and of course Scott] and he is quicker than Valle but if we are to believe what has been written in the media he isn't being listened to, so I wouldn't be happy about that either what I do think is great in MotoGP is that unless it is full of left-handers the results are far more unpredictable and watching the likes of Aprilla and KTM develop on a reasonable playing field is brilliant and I do love that about motorbike racing , and yes, the aeros are getting a bit 'sophisticated' but in relative terms the formula is quite a simple one, so can't wait for Qatar
and then next year, Triumph triples in M2 - that will just sound so brilliant -

Oh yes Chris, those tripes will sound superb, can’t wait to hear them in anger 👍
Mav is very good isn’t he, it’s a strange one at Yamaha as Lin and Vale assert he have whatever chassis / set up he wants but he’s hinting strongly that he can’t ride someone else’s bike.....have you read the article in MCN last week? Interesting reading and I hope it doesn’t descend to walls in the garage etc a la Rossi and Lorenzo...
Roll on the new season.

there is something magical about a triple - although they did sound better on my sprint than the Tiger
I rate Mav up there with the very best and someone who could take the fight to Marquez, yes I did read the article and it does feel as if the first seeds of discontent are being sowed, I do feel Yamaha are at a bit of a crossroads this year, what with Tech3 / Sky46 and a pretty poor year last year but there is testing at Qatar today so maybe this will give us more of an idea, but yea - really looking forward to the season, hopefully it will be as great as was the opening WSB race in Aussie
