Cricket to the uninitiated is a mystery, and should therefore remain so .

Indeed. My comment was obviously tongue in cheek.

Indeed. My comment was obviously tongue in cheek. Good Sir Knight, Being cheeky during a cricket match may draw a penalty...which will never be explained. I share your confusion and thus can never fully grasp when something "isn't cricket" Cheers, Carl

You may be able to bowl a Googlie; or then again be placed at Silly Mid Off, or if the captain is more agreeable it could be Deep Square Leg. Your Majesty .

To avoid silly mid-offs, I would only address a "googlie" if she was very attractive and not involved with the captain. What's Penske got to do with it?

cricket my wonderful co-members is a game of delicacy and beauty, of art and intricacy, of brutality and deception, of bravery and foolhardiness, of tactics and strategies unless of course if you can just hit the ball - but i love the game and am so looking forward to the Aussies getting a bit of a thrashing later on this year

Haven't got the faintest, but I love your definition, Chris. PS: if I recall correctly, the Aussies just 'trashed' England?

To coin a somewhat crass phrase “we had our arses handed to us”........we’ll get the urn back next time though (ever the optimist) 😁

What a great guy. I don't recall I had seen him talking before. Fantastic video! And fascinating to see the look in his eyes exactly the same as the picture I posted in the Driver portraits thread. Great stuff.

And that would be a sensible game of strip poker in the grandstand with Carol Cleveland and a stacked deck of cards.

What a great guy. I don't recall I had seen him talking before. Thanks Lucio, A wonderful video of a legendary driver in his own legendary car smoking the rear tyres nicely (I assume that was Dan). Also wonderful to see was the obvious affection between Gurney and Clark. Cheers, Carl

Lucio, we were 'robbed'!! but as Jamie says we'll get them back, little aside but I met touring in Turkey once an Aussie cricket selector and we had such a wonderfully enjoyable and funny afternoon that only cricket can achieve, drinking tea of course!
Carl, now that would have been a wonderful distraction, the lovely Ms Cleveland....
