John Surtees made a great start! It's noteworthy that all three cars on the front row had Chevrolet V-8 engines and the Chaparral was somehow able to regain the lead after a rear tire failure sent it down the leader board. I agree with others that I'd love to have been there. What a way to spend six hours!
