Okay here we go. Hold on, picture overload! Fabulous Spa.
Friday/Saturday.
Near the main entrance... Never forgotten. Demonstration runs with historic F1 cars, always cool. Monster Max. Nothing could stop him. Carlos was strong all weekend. Bye Seb!

Fantastic photos, René - thank you for sharing!
It must have been quite an experience to watch these super-fast cars run up along that steep hill, through those legendary turns!
I imagine that the new generation of cars look beautiful "in the flesh".
(Actually, by the last GP I saw live, in 2019, I thought that the cars looked great "at speed", although they weren't too photogenic. I imagine that the 2022 cars look way better ...)
I imagine they sound better too, now that the sound-muffling MGU-H system has gone(?) (It's very hard to judge on TV ...)

Excellent Photos Rene and so glad you got your money's worth this year. Can't begin to understand how the FIA and Liberty can even contemplate Spa not being on the calendar.

Nineteensixtyone: the first year of the 1.5L formula ... It continues to fascinate how interesting Formula One was even with such small-displacement engines, producing "just" a bit more than 200HP as I understand it. (Actually, quite a lot of power from a displacement of just 1.5L!)
Interesting to muse on ... that it might not be such a idea if F1 got rid of the turbocharger, as well as all electric motors, and proposed a Formula One generation with "screaming", non-turbocharged 1.6L V6 engines, running on some "green" synthetic fuel, with an even stricter (than now) fuel-flow limit. It would be interesting to see what this would lead to ...

Thanks guys! @ Mikael: It's fantastic seeing the cars go up the hill. Has always been one of the best sights in motorsports. And yes, the new generation of cars look a lot better and even sound better!
@ Carl: Fantastic video. Love the yellow Ecurie Francorchamps Ferrari! @ Rob: Possibly dropping the most beautiful circuit on the calendar and favourite for most drivers is incomprehensible! And yeah, glad I got to see a race this time!
A few more pics and a super short video I made with my iPhone that gives an impression.

Great photos again; and incredible speeds displayed in the video!
I had a look at your YouTube channel via the link/banner in the video. The sound-enhanced video of a Lotus 72 on your slot car-track is very charming! Very nice indeed! I have enjoyed watching it several times. The sound fits just perfectly to the motion :-)

Thank you Mikael, glad to share. As for the Lotus video, it is funny how sound works. I am sure you would not have watched it several times without the added sound of the real car. It just makes it more compelling. I want to make a few more videos like this but even a short clip like the Lotus still takes hours to make. But I need to do a Ferrari flat 12 one day…

Many thanks again Rene - wonderful pictures and a great clip, that new grandstand looks a really good place to watch the cars and drivers from, I am considering going next year - now that it has been confirmed again, it would be something special to go for a number of reasons - namely it would be the 40th anniversary of it's re-opening and my only time there, and even had a seat at the old grandstand but found it more interesting walking around, what an incredible place
Incidentally this month's MotorSport has done a rather good article on the Lotus 72 and all the examples that were made, including the Emmo crashed one and rebuilt fairly recently by Classic Team Lotus, who did such a good job Emmo actually drove it again,
Mikael, I like the idea, I still think history has been harsh on the era of 1.5ltr - the advances from 1961-1965 were pretty impressive and the variety of engines during that period pretty good, from a wonderful sounding Ferrari V6 - to the 4 cylinder Coventry Climaxes, the V8's of the same and BRM, the flat 12 of Ferrari's and the Honda 12cylinder, if anything it finished a year early as the 16 cylinder Coventry Climax looked great and the advances were great, in saying that I always wondered if a 2ltr formula would have produced the same advances but with a bit more poke would have been even more interesting,
