I may be naive, but I do think Hamilton has some "reserves to tap from" when it really matters. Like in 2016, when he "frittered away" at least the first four races. When it finally dawned to him, near the end of the season, that he had to make efforts to take the title again, he was way better than Rosberg; he was really outstanding (in terms of his driving ability). Unfortunately (for him), it was already too late.
In whatever way, these last races of the '21 season will be really interesting!
Mikael, I acknowledged it's conceivable because of his great talent, but as you point out, talent is one reserve, intelligence another.
I agree it will be close and fiercely fought until it's over, but would have more meaning on traditional circuits. No offense to Saudi Arabia's murderous dictator, and why not Yemen or Eritrea? Unless he promised his daughters to the Emirates, maybe ecclestone's shortsighted greed can be reversed.
