Allright, back in Bahrain. Same venue, different track which could potentially be interesting to watch. The Outer Loop will be very fast with lap times below 60 seconds. Main focus though will be on George Russell. He seems like a cool head but the pressure on him must not be underestimated. But what an opportunity it is for the young Englishman. Let’s also hope Lewis Hamilton will be well soon so he can end the season in a normal way. In the meantime, Romain Grosjean is recovering very well and is adament to return to racing in Abu Dhabi. That’s the spirit Romain!

I am hoping for a Mercedes one two on this one. Bottas needs to win, Russell will still impress with second Rob, this must be unique. We, as die-hard Ferrari fans, have both voted for a Mercedes driver to win! ... and let's not forget about Pietro Fittipaldi and Jack Aitken. Interesting to see this many new drivers and combinations so late in the season.

I hope both drivers do well. Pietro Fittipaldi did not impress in Indycar in 2018, but because of his grandfather, a great champion and real gentleman, I wish him well. If Jack Aitkin can best Latifi close to Russell's usual margin, that would impress the whole paddock.
Also interesting is the outer circuit, which looks supercool even if advantageous for Mercedes.

I am rooting for young George but can't see him being allowed to win . If not I'd like to see him dust Verstappen and give him a taste of what is to come. Good luck to the new boys and hope they both have good safe races. Ferrari............what can I say. On the lighter side I saw this Press Conference from Canada 2019 with Sebastian, very funny indeed.

I have missed this Sebastian, he's a funny guy. The love affair with Ferrari is over as he said himself so let's hope we will see more of this Sebastian next year when he's in the pink car.
Will it still be pink? Don't know actually but more interesting regarding Racing Point/Aston Martin is the rumour that papa Stroll has been waving a big cheque in front of Adrian Newey's face. Newey and Vettel reunited at Aston Martin....

Can you imagine MB's response to that, their worst nightmare, a Newey designed car with an MB power plant!

Both Hamilton and Bottas might need to relax their salary demands for next year after this race ...

Good for George Russell and for racing! I'm tired of wanting Valtteri Bottas to raise his game and wouldn't mind if Russell outqualified him by a greater margin than Hamilton ever has.
Without Martin Brundle's insightful commentary, there was almost no insight. Ted Kravitz outshone everyone else in obnoxious stupidity when he ridiculed ad infinitum the Scuderia's use of "half-shaft" to describe what had broken on Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. A half-shaft is a driveshaft leading from one side of the differential to the wheel on the same side. Apparently, Sky Television is comfortable with half-wits but not half-shafts.

wonderful comment Carl, do so enjoy your wit in these matters
but well so far so very good George, good luck for the rest of the weekend, I still have suspicions that Lewis will retire at the end of the year

With the same broadcast team used on F1's official homepage, as well as on their official Youtube channel - yes, it makes you wonder who actually likes that type of commentating, where even the engine sound is predominated by a constant, avalanche-like, non-informative (90% of the time redundant) word-stream. Yes, it's outright annoying to listen to.
Then, Germany's RTL channel, with Florian König as anchor and ex-driver Christian Danner as in-studio commentator and analyst, is on a completely different level: always informative, always moderated (never overly exited).
The sad thing is that RTL's contract with F1 ends by the end of this year. From next year, F1 will be broadcast by Sky Germany. So the level might be adjusted (down), to follow the "new global standard" ...
