The Scalex Lotus looks like a 72D as the radiator ducts are not integral to the bodywork. The 72D should be in Lucky Strike colours for Dave Charlton. Team Gunston used the 72E only I think.
This is the Policar rendition of the Dave Charlton/Lucky Strike Lotus.
Oh great thanks Rene. Looking at the two cars I can see the difference now. The radiator ducts on the Gunston one are the correct shape and the airbox definitely is. In any case I would be so happy to have anyone or both in a collection and as JC pointed out there are cost constraints.I was just rivet counting. Other ones to add to your "Springbok" collection if available are the Lexington Tyrrell 007 that Ian Scheckter also drove, the Lucky Strike M23, the Gunston BT33, an Embassy 72D (ex Dave Charlton), a Gunston Lotus 49, a McLaren M7 and a Gunston Surtess TS9.

Rob,
Those radiator pods annoy me, so it ain't rivet counting .
I have to say that the Policar Dave Charlton Lucky Strike Lotus 72D looks outstanding. I saw it race at the 1972 British GP at Brands Hatch but it wasn't too successful there. However back home in SA it won a lot of local F1 race meetings.
What an iconic colour scheme as well both on cars and bikes.
That René, is simply outstanding and to get a look of your amazing track is a bonus. Outstanding work that must bring you hours of pleasure, I know if it were mine I would be doing nothing else most days .

I am currently clearing some space in the room above my double garage at present, my other half had started to "tidy" all of the stored boxes and excess furniture up there over two years ago and then left complete mess as per usual. It would lend itself to a decent little slot track once fully tidied up and a decent place to hang out in peace and solitude . However currently with temps at high 20's C and the roof of the garage not being insulated on the inside it is like an oven, so I await cooler days.
I may start with my Scalextric set up and then look to maybe routing an MDF track to my own design .

Ostorero makes super high detail slot car models. This one is already out of production for years but one of my favourite shops got hold of one and now it's mine! I am happy!
That is a great purchase René, an outstanding model and well done for getting it. I was undecided about buying one when it was first released, but it was quite expensive so held off.
Dare I ask if you bought the Ferrari 156 ( Stefan or René Arnoux versions) that he released, as that also looked stunning?

Yes I do have the Ferrari (duhh..) as a kit but still needs to be build. I have the Arnoux version but I might order another decal set and do an Alboreto version. This car 'belongs' more to Michele in my mind.
