A propos Ronnie, with Francois at Virage du Nouveau Monde, Rouen, F2 1971:

That is one fantastic photo! I absolutely love the simple and very recognizeable helmet designs that stayed virtually the same throughout their careers. Wonderful cars also!

Lucio, that is a wonderful photo, and totally agree with Rene, but the rear wing of Ronnie's - interesting?

You are right Chris, I didn't notice Ronnie's rear wing, quite peculiar.
Looking at Francois', they were running quite light, not very sophisticated aero appendages by modern standards, of course, but not even curved wing profiles, just a tad to balance cars with little if no body downforce.

That is a classic Rouen photo and of the superb F2 series of days gone by.
As Rouen was such a fast circuit they were running minimal wing in comparison with most circuits that year. Ronnie's March 712M is actually fitted with a rear wing arrangement that was manufactured from the normal front nose wings. It would be interesting to know if they were just fabricated up at the circuit or pre-planned at the factory.
Little doubt that we have two iconic drivers and two F2 cars in that wonderful picture.
