IMSA Prototypes and GT cars will be at Road America on Sunday. All classes will take part in an almost three hour event starting at 18.30 or 19.30 European time, by which time the cool people are in the bar at Siebkens. Looking forward to this and the excellent transmission by Radio Le Mans, IMSA and Road America what's not to like .

Yesterday evening I sat down and enjoyed the two and half hours of IMSA at the wondrous Elkart Lake circuit, a superb presentation of combined talents of the USA's television feed and the excellent radio Le Mans commentary team, just brilliant.
The racing although very good was somewhat processional especially with the DPi cars whose obvious dependency on aero made for difficult overtaking, and to be honest the GT cars were much the same. However the very nature of this amazing track reduced the disappointment of the lack in action. Overall it was another excellent win for the Whelan Engineering Caddy which thundered around as if on rails, shame that the Ganassi car was slightly off the pace and just could not get past the slower cars in front, but eventually managed to come home third.

Rather than begin a new thread I will use a current one. Today sees the final round of the IMSA 2021 Championship which is currently showing during its first hour of the 10 hour race from Road Atlanta.
What a beautiful circuit it is as well, my word you are spoilt for wonderful tracks in the USA. Obviously one cannot have high downforce single seaters race there, more is the pity.
I just love these tracks with such wonderful scenery forming the back drop and the superb undulations of the circuit itself.
No Kevin Magnussen this weekend as he is unwell and has been replaced at the last minute by Earl Bamber who will race for Ganassi next year anyway. Kevin heads off to join the Peugeot World Championship team next year so it would have been a good finalé for him.

The transitions between uphill and down are ideal, without wheels aloft or stomach pressing compressions.
I don't know the results today at Road Atlanta, but still remember the sweep of headlights at night as the GTPs raced up the esses toward Turn 6 during the IMSA Six Hour races at Riverside. Only a few were held into the night, but the sights and sounds were awesome!

Carl, I sat through the first few hours via Radio Le Mans IMSA and it was good but unfortunately time differences made watching the full race impossible for me. Really surprised to see this morning that the Mazda had won as it lost a few laps in the pits due to an electrical problem, probably spark plug related. However there was a period of red flag due to an accident which might have enabled them to catch up, although they were by far the quickest car on track anyway. A great way for Mazda to end their IMSA commitments. As you mention the rolling nature of the terrain is much better than some circuits where the cars plunge up and down, I really like Road Atlanta a circuit I would like to visit one day if I ever cross the Atlantic. John, Many here are tired of Vikings and freelance Italians having all the credit for discovering America. If you cross the Atlantic and (this next is important) plant a flag on the beach at Atlantic City, you'll supplant those ancient mariners. Cheers, Carl

This is why I didn't specify. It's difficult to find one which is honored globally and offends no-one. The crux of the matter is in whose name you want to claim America and who will pay the most. For some you may provide services sans charge.
Does Audrey Tautou have a flag?
Cheers, Carl

Great to see IMSA back in action this weekend withe a round at Road America. Just watch the qualifying and it was good with the race tomorrow. A great series in my opinion and should be amazing in the coming years with such a fine entry of LMDP and Hypercars etc.
