yes good point John, Keke was magical but mightily annoyed, what i was actually referring to was when Senna and Mansell caught Keke and Keke baulked Senna and Mansell overtook him . i was also there in 82, with a very grumpy girlfriend who decided half way through the day she didn't like motor racing anyway, i did advise herwhere the bus stop was, I don't seem to remember her laughing very much but i enjoyed the race - bless her Was that an actual bus stop? Or a bus stop chicane? Shame on you, Chris.

no, we made up, well for a bit anyway - and she got a luxurious wait in the notorious Brands Hatch car park, but after a few pints her sense of humour was restored, Chris, Well done. I suppose we've all taken friends to races in the hope they'd see even half what it is we love about the sport. Usually not...and disappointment all around. One woman I took to Long Beach on the Indy Saturday was very impressed by the speeds on Shoreline Drive, and also when we approached a wonderfully nice Emerson Fittipaldi beneath the Penske transporter awning and he autographed her forearm. She was the ideal neophyte. Others I've taken complain about the noise. Cheers, Carl
