In the early ’90s I also did two days a week back at Team Lotus, partly in charge of the F1 chassis set-up. Mika Häkkinen and Johnny Herbert were like a couple of puppies, with the attention span of gerbils, but both really lovely blokes. In 1993, when Häkkinen went to McLaren, Alex Zanardi joined: a very grown-up guy, highly intelligent.
