Rene, I would suggest that Ronnie is being asked to test the car and Tim is looking on and saying ...ok....can we discuss?

What's in the envelopes? Hmmm. I am sure Carl knows the answer but I can make a few guesses. - Could it be that Ronnie and Tim just received a new contract? Ronnie tries to look cool because he expected no less. Tim can't suppress his happiness - Or is it the warranty card of their new Heuer watches? - Or the latest edition of Autosprint? - Or two speeding tickets just handed over by Mr. Carabinieri in the back? Rene, I never know. I speculate entirely on what may be plausible, which you have already done brilliantly! Whatever the envelopes contain, Ickx and Regazzoni appear very pleased with themselves not to have one, Peterson looks somewhat stunned at what he's been told and Schenken's smile may be that of someone contemplating vengeance. Enzo Ferrari was famous for creating resentment and bitterness. Maybe he's decreed that his two Formula One drivers will get all the babes. Cheers, Carl

Albeit with a little doubt, given the positive feedback on the Ronnie/Ferrari banner, I decided to change it anyway! But I am sure this one will be appreciated also. Maybe at the end of the year we can have a favourite banner poll...

Maybe at the end of the year we can have a favourite banner poll... Not a problem with JYS in Tyrrell 006, even if I miss Ronnie in the 312PB . Great comments by the way on those mysterious envelopes. I would suggest they are the contracts and Ronnie doesn't look too amused at having to be the one who plays support role to the Ferrari GP drivers .

on a more poignant note, it's 11 years since Clay was taken from us - amazing how quickly that has past -

John Charles, I think you've posted the answer on the hallowed gates of Maranello. Rene was absolutely correct about new contracts. I once again, except in regard to Ferrari's minor cruelties, evaded the truth. You nailed it. Bitterness and resentment among drivers would often result in fast laps and occasionally in tragic overreaching. Enzo Ferrari may not have been blessed with an excess of kindness. Cheers, Carl

The new banner today is inspirational René, and tipping a hat to the great discussion currently ongoing.

Rene,
Great new banner image of Chris Amon's Ferrari.
Amon disputed that he had terrible luck. After all, he was hale and hearty and retired.
